Okay...I'm going to use my Intro Bio course from college for this answer. My teacher, Kurt Stager (who has his Ph. D) says that humans, apes, and monkeys all have a common ancestor (a hypothesis found through studying the fossils) but we as humans did not evolve from monkeys. Actually our closest ancestors are the apes (a chimp is an ape and the chimps DNA and our DNA match 99%). So why are there still monkeys? They are not evolving into humans and are a completly different species.

If americans came from Europe then why is there still Englishmen?
If Adam came from dirt then why is there still dirt?
If Eve came from a rib then why are there still ribs?
Your logic is flawed and it is a weak argument.
We evolved from early primates. To the guy who are talking about how all those early cavemen are fake, If you think that we never evolved then why do we have 98% of our DNA simular to a chipanzee?
Also about the tool thing. Birds can't make arrowhead or knives. By the markings on the edge they found that the rock was smashed repeatedly to achieve a sharp edge. They even used a knife that they made by prehistoric man and it was even made very precise cuts when it was used on meat. It was almost as good as a chef's knife.
Just about every animal builds shelter but what bird or something you know can make cave painting of humans hunting?
They also found out that early man was spritual about hunting which means they were religious.

Good god, you really have to look for similar questions before posting again. This type of question is a daily post. Firstly evolutionists have never claimed evolution from monkeys. It was the cro-magnum man, which does not exist now and there is a huge amount of fossilized evidence showing the evolution from this species.

Why is there still anything here? Considering during the Dinosaur Era the dinos were blotted out of existence...and you wonder why humans were not. So exactly why are we still here? And don't give me that "evolution theory" because evolution will always be accompanied with "theory". And there is not an absolute truth in the theory..some things just remain a mystery.

Okay buddy. I'm going to assume this is a genuine question and tell you. Monkeys, chimps, humans etc all came from a single ape like ancestor. We're cousins of monkeys, not ancestors of them. Google chromosome #2 for some concrete evidence of this evolution. There is also a couple of videos on you tube where Ken Miller explains it pretty well.

This is a common misconception made by people who just do not want to understand evolution. Evolution does not have a will of its own. There is no greater purpose within evolution. You are trying to understand evolution through a creationist mind set. Monkey's are evolved and they are able to survive just fine as they are. They will change as their need to change arises OR they will perish. There isn't a plan involved. It simply is.

Well the sort of monkeys, who actually could become humans has faded from Earth. That's how they explain it. And those monkeys who are left, aren't of the kind of those ancient monkeys who became humans... well as for me, it's nonsense, monkeys could never turn into human beings, thats complete nonsense...

Is this the evidence for evolution?
Piltdown Man - A deliberate hoax. Ended up being a ape jaw attached to a human skull that was stained to look old.
Java Man - The discover later rejected it stating that a human & ape were just found in proximity.
Peking Man - Tools & human bones were found near the apes whose brains they were eating (monkey brains are still eaten in China).
Nebraska Man - An entire person (and family) was envisioned from a single tooth... a tooth that later proved to have come from a pig.
Lucy - Reclassified as an extinct ape.
Ramapithecus - A jaw & teeth were eventually dismissed as early human in origin (an Orangutan).
Neanderthal.... a man?
It was once thought that the Neanderthal was a man. But, thanks to advancement in science, genetic DNA research indicates that the chromosomes do not match those of humans. They do match those of bi-pedal primates (apes) though.
Tools? The use of crude tools by Neanderthal does not mean they were human. Many animals including birds, fish, and mammals use "tools".
Shelter? If Neanderthal created shelters, it does not imply they were human. Many animals (beavers, birds, bees) also construct shelters.
Religion? There is no evidence that Neanderthal practiced any form of worship or religion. Interestingly, that is the primary way the bible separates Man from animals.
Why then do some people still insist Neanderthal was man?
Evolution is defied by agnostic people like Michael Behe... a microbiologist. He wrote the book "Darwin's Black Box" I suggest everyone read it and learn.

Because all species evolve and specialize. We don't actually descend from monkeys. We and monkeys have common ancestors. So our relationship with them is we are a cousin species, not a direct descendant.

We all know that dogs evolved from wolves but there are still wolves, cats evolved from lions. Evolution has never claimed that we evolved from monkeys but we did have a common ancestor and the proof is you!!!
