I can't decide this, all the answers are worth a piece of the pie. Amazing though both atheist and theist agree something would be different.

Many people think they know why, and it does seem to affect how they operate, so my answer is "yes".

I think there is no "why", that "why" is a human issue, not a universal or Divine issue, so there is no universal "why" that would make sense to a limited, mortal human.

possibly, although as you said, "regardless of faith or understanding" so if we didnt understand it, it probably wouldnt change anything, but for those who could understand it, it would probably change everything.

It depends on the 'why'. However, regardless, I'm sure it would create a whole lot of change if we ever knew for sure.
