I am a little overweight, so recently I have considered doing some sports to take the extra pounds off.
Could the practise of budybuilding be helpful in the process of weight removal????
I am talking about practicing some budybuilding excersises using weight lifting machines, and not professional budybuilding.

Bodybuilding/weight lifting can reduce weight, yes- but this weight is of BODY FAT- which I'm sure if what you are trying to lose.

However, in trying to lose body fat, you should do both CARDIO AND WEIGHT-LIFTING.

By lifting weights, you can create muscle. This muscle increases your metabolism, thus burns more fat.

Even if your goal is just to lose body fat, weight lifting is a must if you want to maintain or even add on to the muscle you already have- too much cardio alone may start to eat away at your muscle tissue (you DON'T want to lose THIS weight).

Weight lifting generally increases weight (with the right volume and intensity, and diet) because you want to lift heavier and heavier which requires stronger muscles which usually means getting bigger. If you're doing 20 reps of 10 pound dumbells that is more endurance than strength or size. Bigger/more muscles do burn more calories so it does help burn fat, not necessarily reduce weight.

Losing weight means burning more calories than you intake. Reduce calories and do more high intensity exercise like running or swimming. However in the process you lose some muscle at the same time with fat and the opposite is true in gaining muscle, you gain muscle and some fat because you have a caloric surplus. It's not possible to do both at the same time.

So if you're overweight I suggest first losing weight then start heavy weight lifting.

body building and weight lifting does not make u lose weight... it'll build muscle under the fat - which will actually make you look bigger.

if you want to lose weight the only way is thru diet and exercise - cardio exercises such as running on the treadmill cycling.

I recommend running 3-4 times a week about 20-30 mins, the length of time does not have to be continuous, you can split it to ten min incremints but make sure its 3-4 times a week totalling 20-30 mins and as you get more fit you can increase the amount of running but for a starter that should be enough for now.

also no sodas, juices, pastas, breads, potatoes, avoid eating after 7 pm as well.

Any form of physical exercise will aid in losing weight. Weight lifting may not drop off the pounds as quickly as other forms of exercise but it helps. Of course diet is also a very important factor.

no, bodybuilding (lifting weights for exercise) will just add more weight. you may lose some fat because you are still burning calories, but muscle weights more than fat and you will just keep gaining. try jogging/running to get excess fat off and also lift some weights if you want. its still good exercise but it will just keep you heavy. i know over 2 1/2 months last summer i lost 15 pounds just running every other day for maybe 3 miles. i hope it works for u

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!
