Yes, it must be reported. Any infectious disease must be reported but not necessairly using individual names. In other words, if the doctor had 5 cases of flu in one week, he might report the five cases but not use names of the patients due to HIPPA regulations. Anytime your personal medical condition is revealed you must agree to it. Some diseases (HIV and sexually transmitted diseases) must be reported to the local health department. The doctor will tell you before you have the test if it is mandatory to report this result to them. Then you have the choice to have the test or not.
