I'm a and do NOT want a T.v in my room. I see it as an distraction. I'm a preteen, and I want it to be easy to clean.

you should paint ur room in black and pink strips get either a black comforter or a pink one then pick out furniter that matches it

to make the stripes use painters tape. you can even make cool designs with the tape if u want it to look extra original for example u can do zigzag lines. to break up the long lines going around your room you can put the tape in a design of a heart or something in different spots on the line. keep the floor lamp and i would change the comforter b/c if you want bright colors on the wall that might be a little too much to have a rainbow color comforter also. stick with light colored furniture. if you put dark wood in a room with little light it will make the room look even more dark. keep the white nightstand and if you want you can repaint it to match an accessory you put in your room. good luck!

1] pick the lightest color you like from the comforter, and paint three walls that color. [ ex: leaf green ] Recommend satin finish paint.
2] do a rainbow wall to match comforter at head of bed [ accent wall ]. Stripes on more than one wall will make room seem too busy and dark. Black will also darken the room.
3] pick a second color [ pink? ] for the curtains. Sheers will let in a lot of light, but should have shades or blinds beneath for privacy.
4] repeat the wall color, the second [ curtain ] color, and one other for all accessories - throw pillows [ in solids of dif textures - velvet, satin, faux fur? ], lamps/shades, ornaments, candles/holders, vases. { ex: leaf green, pink, and light turquoise, with silver [ chrome ] as your metal }
5] put a silver [ chrome ] wall mirror up across from windows, to reflect more light

Low tack masking tape worked for me. I did a picture rail type thing with them, so had fuscia pink on the majority of wall, with turquoise on the top and the silver stripe seperating them (3/4 of the way up the wall). I liked it anyway. Silver/chrome was the chosen accesory colour and I loved it. My room was only small when I lived at home so I wanted to jazz it up a bit. Plus try and keep the furniture all the same type of wood/metal etc.
Hope that helps.

If you are keeping the comforter I would match the colors to that. If you can afford to change the comforter than you can go with any color you like. The stripes on the wall is done with tape. Go to the hardware store and ask them for the painters tape. They may even have different sizes for stripes. I haven't done it but if you tape the wall and paint between the tape, you get a perfect stripe :) Good luck!!

For your stripes get some masking tape and tape it on to the walls. Once you have filled in between with paint and let it dry you can remove the tape.
