Yes. Smoking can accelerate the normal aging process of your skin, contributing to wrinkles. These skin changes may occur after only 10 years of smoking and are irreversible.

How does smoking lead to wrinkles? Smoking causes narrowing of the blood vessels in the outermost layers of your skin. This impairs blood flow to your skin, depleting it of oxygen and important nutrients, such as vitamin A. Smoking also damages collagen and elastin — fibers that give your skin its strength and elasticity. As a result, skin begins to sag and wrinkle prematurely.

The repetitive facial expressions you make when smoking , such as pursing your lips when inhaling and squinting your eyes to keep out smoke , may contribute to wrinkles. It's also possible that repeated exposure to the heat from burning cigarettes might damage your facial skin over time. Also this skin change is visible on young adults who have been smoking for as few as 10 years.

I don't think it matters, I would rather have wrinkles than half a lung and die at the age of 40. Just don't smoke if and you will not have to worry about wrinkles.

Your skin condition is a reflection of overall health. Many things can impact the health of your skin, (Skin is the largest organ of your body). Since smoking tends to deteriorate your general health it makes sense that it attacks major organs such as the skin, lungs, heart and liver. If you have a healthy body you will also have healthy skin. In addition the toxins in cigarettes promote free radical toxins in the blood and contribute to oxidation of tissues, especially the skin.
