you maybe dont have enough scart sockets for this and might need a scart extension
it depends what you have for the tv with the surround sound
normally surround sound comes with dvd player so that goes in there ...
vcr needs to be in sky box if u are wanting to record
sky scart out to tv and the dvd player needs to go to tv using scart cable into hopefully a second scart socket ur tv has .
vcr is on it way out if you dont really use it disreguard it and maybe stick in another room on a portable

actually, a VCR is a television set without the reveal screen. RF is going in, the vcr's channel selector chooses the station, decodes the RF into audio & video, and documents it. with the aid of fact the television does the comparable element, purely does not checklist it, there's no element in duplicating the tuner and each and all the demodulation circuitry. So, in removing the vcr, you in all probability bumped off a few shared circuitry needed for demodulating the video. Sounds approximately like determining to purchase a clean motor vehicle, removing the engine, installation a killer sound device, and thinking why the automobile does not bypass.

put one scart lead into the tv and then put the other end into your sky box
put another scart lead into dvd player and the other end into the second socket on tv
everything should be ok
if your dvd player has a tv sound mode if you turn your dvd player on and turn it onto tv sound mode you will get surround sound on your tv
does this help ??????
