Many more wars have been based around religion than logic so I would say logic.
Religion isn't a way of ending war; it is used as a means of initiating and justifying war.

None of them can make global peace. It's impossible. Peace will be always limited. Look, when Europe had only Christianity, can you find any evidence of absolute peace?
And there are many countries where the majorities are religious people. The minorities simply do not challenge them. Answer yourself if these majorities have peace the kind you mentioned as your question?
Then how religions, single or diversity, can make no war, no sufferings but peace?
Look, it was multi-gods systems dominated in the world. Leaders tried to unify gods and finally they got solution and invented one God religion. Unfortunately, now there are three different one-God religions and each of them trying to convince people to be only truth.
Logic? Can two people from two different backgrounds that never can see eye to eye have one unified logic? You know the scientists and the creationists argued in court recently on teaching religion as a science subject? Well, this is only one example.
You talk about money and power. I think you know about empires built in the past. Where are they now? And look at the richest countries in the world. Can they stop wars? The UN is a solution but it only replaced the predecessor which failed the world in WWII.
You have to ask people why they do crimes - include also bullying and abuses. Then you will know why they war. And now I hope you would find a magic solution that doesn't exist.
Don't think total peace, my friend. It's like trying to visit to all stars in the universe. Make yourself the peace you want and share it with the people like you who really want peace. Once you realize what be the true peace, you'd worry about the world no longer. Unless you have peace inside yourself, you can't understand who deserve the kind of peace you are thinking and why.

money and power dont work. Power on the earth ( of men ) always wants more and more and more... so...just feeding power with more money is never going to satisfy it. It will just grow larger is all.
War? People will always struggle , sometimes with violence for what they want.. some will want justice..some will want power.. some will want both ...some will just want to own alot more stuff. ...boring ..but common place throughout mankinds history.
The universal thing... thats the spiritual side. That is the part that changes from the inside out. Hopefully for the better. People are all similar inside. Everyone wants to be loved.to give love ( ok well most people anyway! ) .. most people want to help others ..how to help is a growth process.. first control over others.. then hopefully that progresses to greater personal understanding so a person can let go of ego and grab onto loving thy neighbor as one wishes to be loved. ...
Life is an ongoing process .. it does not stop until the last breath. Always the mind is working.
Getting everyone to be at peace all at once is Gods work. And obviously that time has not yet come.

It will come from the heart of every man and woman who choose to 'war no more'. When that happens, in a twinkling of an eye, this place will be transformed.
War is opposition and resistance in huge violent proportion.
Most people on this planet are not at war. Most live in peace. There is more peace than war on the planet or none of us would be sharing on YA right now.
I prefer to 'not war' - however I understand why many of the wars have been fought and are continuing to be fought on the planet (Scripturally and otherwise). If, in this world that misunderstands so readily, there are times when some of us have to 'take up arms against a sea of tyrrany', then so be it. Until we can ALL behave better toward one another war will continue to be how we work out our 'squabbles' on this planet in a large way.
Picture this. War is declared on a country by the ruling forces, defensive war is set into action by the ruling forces of the country under attack. All soldiers on both sides, suit up, show up, and to a last man and woman on both sides ALL refuse to fight, top officers on down, they lay down their orders and armaments and simply sit down. And don't budge for 24 hours.
Just picture it in your mind's eye, all over the world.
And see the ruling forces being moved by this huge show of peace in action so that accord is found. Don't get busy with smaller details, stay in the huge overview. See this going on as if the world were under a microscope in the vastness of space.
See it so. Please, see it so.

Peace...Harmony...Balance.
One man's balance is another's imbalance.
Comparisons and Competitions.
Even in your quest for solutions to peace, you've used those processes.
Man's inhumanity towards mankind, the other creatures sharing this planet, and the environment causes unnecessary hardships and pain; but I've used comparisons to help me determine that acting more humane should win in the competition of behavior.
You introduced 2 more choices in your last sentence...a question of force (repression, subjugation, suppression, annihilation) vs. spirituality (which is not the same as religion).
Most of life isn't shaded black or white, it's gray. Check again if you think the answers to life questions are Either/Or.

As long as there are humans that do not trust each other there will be war. Since Humans are always filled with fear of each other, and like to profit by exploiting each other, there will always be fear of each other. Neither logic or Religion can alter this.
Since humans are not trustworthy, there will always be war until there are no humans. Theirfore the only end to war is war that kills everyone.
The moslums seem to be well on the road to peace.

Due to there being so many belief systems and everyone thinking theirs is best, religion is immediately ruled out.
Therefore LOGIC is the way. Here is my logical solution.
We take and give all of those suffering people and give them the keys to a brand new Mercedes and a fully furnished house with all appliances and any other amenity they want or need.
Then after 4 weeks, we throw 'em out on the street and show them how to get it back via capitalism and democracy.

I can deliver you world peace (relative peace) in about 50 years with a starting budget around 100 billion ;) And some cooperation with a few countries.
Any takers? As soon as someone paypals me $100.000.000.000 I'll get right on it.
All by logic... and little firepower.

Well, If I remember correctly, God gave King Solomon peace throughout his whole life, becuase he was a peaceful man, but first of all he sought The Lord In everything, the scriptures say that in the last day's there shall be wars and rumors of wars, so I don't think wars will cease becuase we are in the last day's, and as you well know, the scriptures will be fullfilled, if they say, there shall be wars, then they shall be wars.

There will never be world peace. Period.
The human mind and nature is flawed. Some of us call it original sin.
Given the cost of life suffering and misery caused by wars and given they solve nothing, perhaps we should call it original stupidity.
No government has ever managed to resolve the issues. Religion explains WHY there are wars and that there WILL be wars always until the end of time.
