ok here's the deal. her birthday's in a couple of days. We're going to disney world in 3 days. I'm not getting her a gift for her birthday. Why? cuz I'm gonna propose @ disney world, so that's my gift, but it'll be a little late. I need a little white lie to cover up. I thought about buying a fake diamond necklace, but I'm not sure that'll work. I just need a lie that can hold me over for about a week. Can you all think of anything? Could I tell her I had to order her gift online, but it hasn't come in yet? just give me a good lie! After she says yes, I'm going to tell her the truth about her birthday. Something tells me she won't get mad once she sees the ring. thanks! and wish me luck!

Tell her the day before her b'day that you are really upset and disappointed because you ordered her gift online and it hasn't arrived. If you feel soooo upset about it, she'll start trying to make you feel better LOL Then when you're at Disney World, surprise! Good luck!

You are doomed to break up anyway not long from now so don't bother with the proposal. Starting a relationship like that with a lie is not a good idea. Proposing is not a gift to her...it is an act of necessity for you. What are you going to buy her for her birthday next year; a lifetime subscription to Playboy? Then, for Xmas, get her a front row seat to all the years' boxing matches...boy, won't she love that? You are too selfish, and childish, to marry anyone, so forget the proposal. After giving her a fake diamond necklace you expecte us-or her-to believe you are going to give her a real diamond ring? None of us is that stupid. If you don't have a ring yet, you should not have mentioned anything about it yet. Then you'd have had no need to lie. You are a habitual liar, and will have to perpetrate your fruads without our help. I hope the little woman is smart enough to see through you before she says "I do". If you can afford to buy a fake diamond necklace, you can afford to buy a genuine pendant with a small genuine diamond chip in it. You are just a fake...all around. Something tells me she will be mad when she learns that the ring is as fake as the necklace...which , coming from you, it will be.

Right - to start off i have to say thats such a cute idea! She's realy lucky! But, you definatley have a problem staling her for a week or so, my idea would be to on her birthday - get home early and run a nice hot bath for her, do a bit of shopping get some nice bath bombs and bublebaths - sprikle some rose petals ontop, pour some champagne and buy some luxury chocolates. She'll be realy touched by how personal the gift is. If your still a bit doubtfull - tell her your getting her something when you go on holiday aswell, hope she says yes!

I wish you all the luck in the world. Rather than telling a lie of any kind, why don't you just remain silent altogether? It'll be just as mysterious, and she'll wonder what the hell is your problem and all that good stuff. Advantage: You don't have to confess any dishonesty (even for a "good cause" she'll still remember how adeptly you lied when you thought you needed to). That's my wedding gift to you; always find another option to lying. Good luck and Happy New Year.

the online idea sounds like a good one however she is probably going to ask? why didnt you order it earlier!?!?!? lol so u should be carefull with that, how about a small gift to tide her over? and if you could get the postial company to write up a fake apology 4u just explain to them what is going on and im sure somone would write up somthing nice for you that seems real stating that they accidently sent it to the wrong place or somthing in the huge section of gears went wrong and the gifts will not becoming untill later, just explain that to her and buy her somthing nice for now and tell her that ur sorry but her other gifts are on the way and that you didnt forget and your thinking of her thats why u bought somthing small or did somthing special for her to make up for what happened to your other gifts try that

Why not just get her a small birthday gift that she'll like?
A gift certificate for a spa to get a facial or a manicure to show off her ring afterwards...

Hmm...try this. Instead of not getting her a bday gift at all, give her a gag gift...that way IF she's suspecting you're going to propose, it's completely throw her off her game. Get her something she won't even like...she'll be pissed until she sees the ring...trust me.

I think its a good idea to say you ordered it online and hasn't arrived yet
A small gift just because it is her Birthday would be nice - after all you wouldn't ignore her Birthday if your anniverssary was close would you??
And good luck :-)
