I have noticed this more and more lately. People getting all defensive like "people aren't illegal." But according to the terminology used by the United States government, some people ARE illegal, and some people ARE aliens. It doesn't mean they are less of a person, it's just terminology....

Luck74 - you are right, and you are wrong. Terminology changes over time, but the government still uses these terms. Why can't I?

You have noticed, as i have, how the phrase "illegal aliens" has morphed into "illegal immigrants," then "undocumented immigrants," then "undocumented workers," even "guest workers"? My gosh, "undocumented guest workers" – that phrase is so positive, it makes me feel like moving out of my house and letting them just move in. Poor "undocumented guest workers" – undocumented must mean they lost their documents, and they're our guests, and they're working hard – I mean, what could be better than that?

This is big-time desensitization. We're losing our sense of outrage over having 10 to 15 million illegal aliens basically invading our country. We're being desensitized to the fact that illegal immigration is illegal – it's a crime, remember? People who, for whatever reasons, don't want our immigration laws to be enforced, use the word "undocumented" instead of illegal. And – this is critical – the news media complete the sales job by picking up the label and using it on us day in and day out.

Thanks for joining the party....Happy new year!

Political Correctness. You have al types of people who don't want to call a spade a spade. In other words they are afraid of calling something that it is. An illegal alien is an illegal alien.

Some folks like to keep dumbing down the real words for something such as illegal alien and are afraid they will offend someone. Quit being offended and forget the political correctness and call it as it is.

Any toddler-kisser that doesn't uphold the kind could prefer to be subject to criminal costs. This is composed of 0.5 of the dummies in Congress and Senate. Obama has abused the kind and can be held in charge. Watch Fox this Sunday and that they are going to uncovered his agendas. 8 acceptable and 9 eastern. i wish they tutor sufficient airborne dirt and dirt on him that he will run for the dimensions of to the Mexican border.

They think that anyone who wants all persons entering this country to do so legally is a racist.

An alien is simply a non-citizen who's here in the US. An ILLEGAL alien is a non-citizen who came here outside of legal channels.

They're just mad that the terminology doesn't favor their little pet criminals. I use "illegal alien" all the time just in spite.

Get the tissue out, because you need to pass it out when you even say illegal alien. Some tear up at the mere sight of the word. We have legal immigrants and we have those that wish not to follow immigration guidelines and jump over our border..hence, they place themselves into the correctly worded...ILLEGAL ALIENS... how I see it.

Criminal illegal alien is the proper terminology that I use.

I call it as I see it.

I don't...but I know what the definition of illegal alien is though. It means they area alien to this country giving another country their sovereignty, and illegal means that they shouldn't be here.

It wasn't until the 1950's that it meant an extraterrestrial..which is not what an illegal alien is.

They are always looking for something to complain about. A judge not to long ago referred to an illegal alien as a "un-wanted un-desirable". I am happy referring to illegal aliens that way should they desire it.

Having to face the fact they are an illegal alien is difficult so they choose to deny it instead.
