Don't hold back, don't try to soft sell. Just confess what you did and what you were thinking about it. Jesus gave us this gift of confession to free us from our sins. If you knowingly without a sin, then the confession is not valid and you commit an additional sin. Go for the grace, trust me, their is nothing that the priest hasn't heard before. He is there for your benefit. Trust Jesus in this one.

Many different sins can constitute "impure things" and/or "bad things". Don't be afraid to use the word "masturbate" when confessing.

Besides, if you were to try beating around the bush by saying "impure/bad" things, there's always the possibility the priest is going to want you to elaborate. And then how are you going to feel?

lol at this so much, I am so sorry, but it's so funny how earnest you are in seeking an alternative way for describing masturbation to a priest. xD Bless you.

"I have done impure things to myself."
"I sexually violated myself."
"I had fornication with myself."
etc.

Or just be completely blunt and honest, "I masturbated."

Impure sexual activity..???

I had confused once about using condoms and I just came straight out with it. Just tell them whatever. Like a priest once told me "Don't be Ashamed, you guys have not given us anything new in over 2000 years"

Why can't you just say it? It's not going to be the first time he's heard it. Say "touched yourself" or something, but I don't think "impure things" will cut it. He'll probably ask you to elaborate since that could mean a lot of things.

Don't worry, the priest has heard litter ally everything. He does it himself I'm sure. Or at least the priests I have known.

Don't bother. The priest will probably be masturbating in the confessional! Seriously, i don't even think masturbating is still considered sinful by the church.

Just use the word for cripe's sake...it's only a word & correct one at that. If you want absolution be accurate. Also is it really a sin??? Who said so ?.

Ask the priest what he calls it.

You can be generic like that and say sexual sin -- you don't have to get into the nitty gritty details of the event.
