Although I love dogs, I have no desire to get a dog. I really dont have time for a dog at this point in my life. I keep chasing the cats out but they all return and now I think one of them is in heat. The animal control takes forever to respond. How can I safely and humanely get rid of these cats.

no other animals in my yard that I can see...birds no longer come around cause of these darn cats.
Also, catching is not an option for me...I am allergic to cats.

Get lots of orange peel and leave it in various areas of the yard, cats hate the smell of it so it should keep them away.

A cat's territory is usually larger than a block, if they're in your back yard constantly, they may actually live at a neighbor's house and be their cats. Have you tried asking around? They could be legitimately owned already.

Animal control will come get them but they will be put to sleep. i hate to think of these kitties being put down when somebody might like them for pets.

Go to a feed store and post a note that says You Catch Them You Keep Them. Lots of folks are needing cats to keep rats out of their barns and chicken coops.

Put cages out and put cat food in them. (You can get a tiny bag a Wal-Mart or some other place) Then get someone to take them to the pound for you.

Put food way away from your yard every other day and maybe they will stop coming to your house and go there.

the reason therre are cats there is probably because you have an animal that the cats want to eat. like rabbits or birds.... so you could get rid of those... its easy. all you have to do is like drop something that smells like a human near them and they'll probably run away
good luck!! :)
