When you go door to door, I would imagine there is a certain type of person that will be the most amenable to your views. Is it the person who has only a rudimentary knowledge of the Bible and the tenets of "Christendom" as you call it? Is it the person who has plenty of biblical knowledge and yet suddenly sees things from your perspective instead? Is it the person who holds a non-Christian (Wiccan, Muslim, etc.) or atheist belief? Other demographics?

Let me go back to the 10 years I spent (as an adult, not a child) going from door to door as a Jehovah's Witness. Our biggest single obstacle was apathy. 8 out of 10 would be completely disinterested. 1 out of 10 might put up a spirited and Biblical defence of their beliefs. 1 out of 10 would be glad to see you and welcome you in and a discussion would ensue.

I have no recollection of any well-educated, articulate and open minded person (of any faith or of no faith at all) ever being persuaded that Jehovah's Witnesses had "the truth" and that every other Christian denomination was part of 'Babylon the Great', the Harlot of Revelation.

I have no recollection of any Wiccan, Muslim or atheist joining our ranks.

There may be one useful demographic - our message appealed to vulnerable people. By that I mean people who had little education or were struggling financially, emotionally or mentally. The suggestion that one could live forever on a paradise earth, free from pain, suffering and injustice has H-U-G-E appeal to those who have no hope at all.

Any Christian who can defend their faith and use the Bible to do so will be immune to the gospel taught by Jehovah's Witnesses.

The ones with a humble heart, open mind.

The ones that are tired of of "Christendom" churches going to war in the name of God.

The ones that are tired of giving their allegiance to a flag, a cloth that can do nothing for them.

The ones that are tired of letting their kids sit on Satan's lap during the month of Dec. (oh I'm sorry "Christendom" calls him Santa)

The ones that are tired of thinking that a loving God would let them burn in hell forever.

The ones that are tired of thinking that God is some crazed bi-polar being that has three personalities.

The ones that are tired of hearing things that are inspired by the demons.

THE HONEST ONES THAT ARE SEEKING THE ONE AND ONLY TRUE GOD, AND WANT TO KNOW THE TRUTH ABOUT JEHOVAH AND HIS KINGDOM.

All different backgrounds with an honest heart and open mind to God.

I know of one man was in seminary for the priesthood. One day a JW came and showed him from the Bible God's personal name. That was the straw that broke the camel's back for him. He was so mad that in 3 years of seminary, no one had EVER showed him God's name. Something so simple! He quit seminary and never went back.

Some do not have a great education, but can think. They see conditions in both the world and the churches are not what they are supposed to be. They want to know why? When we show them from the Bible, they understand.

Some are actual surfers and skiers professionally. Other have been professional military. In WWII, many saw JWs in the prison camps and were amazed at their conduct in remaining true to their beliefs that they became JWs too.

Doctors, architects, artists alongside factory workers, landscapers and janitors. The reasons are as individual as they are. The common thread is a desire to please God and knowing the ring of truth although some have , in fact, been a little hard of hearing. They may have dismissed us for many years but one day, it suddenly made perfect sense.

True, It is easier for those who do not have to unlearn all the lies, other religions have taught them.

But Jehovah can open the hearts of those who are willing to listen.

We come from all religious back -grounds

From Priest, and Ministers of the various Churches,

to the highly educated,

to the 'poor' of the earth.

Jehovah is not partial, but anyone willing to worship him in spirit and true is acceptable to him.

People who are willing to be "taught by Jehovah". -Isaiah 54:13

In Jesus' day both unlettered persons and taught ones accepted the truth. An important point is this; true Christians brought the truth to their doorstep. -Acts 5:42; Romans 10:13-15

From the people we have now.... it's ANYONE HONEST-HEARTED!

People just have to listen to us, and think about what they have learnt. Different people are touched by different bits of the truth.

For some it's knowing that their dead loved ones are not in torment, for others, it's knowing that God has a name. Many like understanding the reason why we suffer. Those who have delved into Scripture might be confused about the trinity.

I personally had no desire to go to heaven (and "float among the clouds" as I used to say) I was happy to learn that I could live on earth forever.

So it covers a wide range of backgrounds and personalities.

I would say it is a person that has not really experienced Jesus in their life. I have a couple of ladies that come to my door, but I would never change to being a Jehovah Witness. I have had a deep spiritual experience with Jesus. I have seen much in the spiritual realm, especially as a child. They cannot relate to this and debate it with me. I love them alot and enjoy their company, but I cannot accept their beliefs.

Anyone from any socio-economic station, from any part of the word. Often it is people who recognize the lies they've been taught all their lives; people who read in THEIR bible something they've never been taught before and wonder why; people who are looking for hope and don't find it in the institutions of this world.

People who are willing to listen, have an open mind and a good heart condition to learn. They are usually the ones that actually want to talk to Jehovah's Witnesses and interested in where their beliefs come from in the Bible. It doesn't guarantee a person will become a Witness but unless people are willing to listen and learn then they will not want to speak to us but it is up to the individual.
Same as for Jesus of those who were willing to listen to and learn from him were the ones that were likely to follow him. the message we give is not to a select few but we endeavored all peoples to be given the opportunity to learn about the good news of the kingdom. That is our mission from Christ himself.

When I first had a free home Bible study with Jehovah's Witnesses I knew nothing about the Bible except the few things I picked up during life. Some were true some were false ideas of my own making - since I was given an opportunity one day to learn I took it. Now I am happily baptised. My wife before I met her used to be Pentacostal and she took up a Bible study with Jehovah's Witnesses and she is baptised too. People of all walks of life and from all cultures and races have learned the truths and hope of God's Kingdom. There is no particular kind except those willing to learn and listen and let them prove to themselves that what Jehovah's Witnesses teach is Bible truths.

Matthew 24:14
. . .And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.

funny, I was thinking about this the other day. My guess is anyone who is already receptive to any type of door-to-door salesman, such as those who buy Avon, maybe Fuller Brush fans or those who purchase their vacuum cleaners on their doorstep.

Maybe those who are inclined to watch televangelists. Disenfranchised, lonely and/or socially inept people? Those who are living in an abusive situation are easy targets, as well.
