No, because the caffeine in it makes you dehydrated, as well as causes your blood pressure to rise. Try putting some fresh lemon in your water instead.

RE:
Is unsweet tea equal to water?
I've been trying to drink alot of water l8ly, but I just can't stand having no taste whatsoever. I can drink unsweet, homebrewed tea. It's Lipton tea, and it says on the box that it has antioxidants in it. Can I use that as a water substitute?

Tea hydrates you as much as water does, though it speeds up your metabolism a little, since it's a diuretic. It doesn't have any calories if you don't add milk or sweetener, though, so if that's your main concern, drink away.
Black tea has half as much caffeine as coffee, so don't drink more than eight cups a day. If you need to drink more than that, try green or white tea, which have less caffeine. Drinking water in addition to several cups of tea would also be a good idea, especially since tea can stain your teeth.

No. It still has caffeine, which acts as a diaretic. To make water more tasty, you can add lemon or lime. Try some of the sugar free mixes like Crystal light. Gradually cut down on the amount of powder you use to accustom yourself to water.

In order for it to be a water equivalent it can't contain alcoholo, sugar or caffeine. So unsweetened herbal teas will usually work.
Good luck.

Put a lemon or lime in your water. Drink seltzer with lemon or lime. Tea is a good drink but I would not use it as an exclusive replacement for water.

There was just a debunking article on science myths that appeared as an AP news item today. It says "People should rink a certain amount of water per day?" What made it de-bunkable was that the original study was one in which a scientist said "People should drink a certain amount of fluids per day." Over the decades that "fluids" got corrupted so people thought the guy said "water." Actually any drink (or juicy meal) serves that purpose. So go ahead and enjoy any fluid withotu having to punish yourself with water only.
