Just trying to find out how hard Boxers (Dogs) are to train? I have heard they tend to be fairly stubborn.

They need an owner very committed to training who will be firm and consistent. They are very high energy, easily distracted and strong-willed and like to challenge their owners. It varies by dog, but overall boxers are very bouncy energetic dogs and not the easiest to train.

Any dog can be stubborn. I have two Boxers and my husband and I started training them the second they got to our home! One is 7 the other is 5 and they are both K9 good citizens and highly obedient dogs! If you put the time and commitment into any dog they can be super pets! Obedience classes and a Boxer training book are great starts! Good luck and Happy New Year!

Dogs are like kids, all of them are different. Some boxers are headstrong and if they think they know something more fun to do than what you're telling them to do, they will do whats fun. That's most dogs though. Sign up for an obedience class, be ready to spend a LOT of time training. A professional should be able to help meet your dog's specific needs. Boxer's have brains, they just want to know why they should listen to YOU instead of themselves. Good luck!

I have boxers! They are SO SMART, when training them
you need to make training fun, because they get bored easily.
So Training has to be repetitive but in short segments.
They are only stubborn if you make training boring.
GREAT Choice! I love boxers.

Any dog can be stubborn it just takes training consistency and repetition. And most of all patience.

With any breed training is a matter of playing to breed instinct.
You can't train a boarder collie to attack or kill.
You can't train a pittbull to retrieve a duck unscathed.
Boxers are great guards and family protectors. They don't make good agility course athletes.

Not stubborn. They just get soooo bored and wander off. It has to be a game or they will lose interest?

No dog is easy to train unless you don't get very stressed and stay calm.

some boxers are lovers othes are just like grr...but with mine named bo...the trick was treats...and lots of care and attention thats the key.!
i know you prob kno this stuff if ya do sry
