Sectionhand: your studies are leading you in the right direction. The EU is rapidly gaining power and is roughtly the same geo/political entity of the Holy Roman Empire of old. Folks are too blind to see the power the EU is already exercising over the world economy, look at decisions against American companies like Microsoft and Intel and honeywell........The beast is rising...........

This is A very good question;Eze. 38 Refers to the Nations and The Lion with all the Young Lions,will
be asking Russia and Iran,Why the attack on Israel?------That Alignment is taking place now;
Some "Watchmen" Not J.W. but others say that , the Lion is England and the Young Lions are,U.S.
Canada-Australia-New Zealand and other former
Nations that were Once part of Great Briton;The Picture isn"t real clear yet;----Their is a Power Shift taking place Now,It is the E>U. that will be the last Empire, not U.S.----Perhaps the Recall of Christ Ambassadores. The Catching Up of all Believers,would cause this Shift of Power to Europe;

I have not found specific Scripture regarding the U.S., but Zech.14:2 (below) does say that ALL nations will come against Jerusalem.

Zech.14:2 For I will gather ALL nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.

In Revelation chapter 13 the text refers to a 7 headed, ten horned beast coming out of the sea. It is suggested by many that this 7 headed beast represents the world powers that have existed- having gained thier authotity from the dragon (satan). In verse 2 this beast mouth is the mouth of a lion- suggested by many to represent England (Great Britain). tracking back in world history a case could be made for the world powers represented by this beast culminating in the anglo-saxon world power of today. As one continues to read the chapter another beast is refered to. Having two horns like a lamb and speaking like a dragon. The final act in this chapter is really ironic in that it leads up to the mark of the beast- 666. WIth the rise of using the Social Security number for personal identification and now the suggestion of national i.d. cards one could make the argument that the US and Great Britan are the front runners in requiring each citizen to bear or posess a number in order to work, buy goods and move throughout society. Thus the 666 or mark of the beast. Theologins suggest that the bible is a book about government. Who has the right to rule over mankind? Can man rule over himself or must he have god to have peaceful, succesful rule? The original challenge in the bible, according to bible scholars was a challenge by Satan to God that man did not need God. That either he, satan, or man himself, could do just fine without God. God responded, according to some, by allowing man time to attempt rule over himself without God's interference so at the end of the run of self governance God could present his case to angels and man that time proved mans inability to rule himself to lasting peace and success.

That is as close as it gets in bible prophecy to suggesting a U.S. or anglo saxon world power and even that is interpreted in hindsight........

As for someone having suggested that the Whore in chapter 17 and 18 is concerned being money- it has also been suggested that the whore, Babylon the Great is nothing other than organized religion itself. That the nations- kings of the earth- have held an unholy alliance with organized religion wich would stand in defiance to God's will since true religion would have no relationship with governments other than god's given that the bible suggest that worlds governments gain thier power and authority from non other than the dragon- gods archenemy....

I've heard them make some make some lame-*** excuse about the eagle or Babylon in Revelations being about the USA. As if eagles don't exist anywhere else in world.

EDIT: LOL, look at the answers below me. Maybe I'm a prophet too.

I wish I had paid more attention to this prophecy program that I was watching. They mentioned that the USA was in the Book of Revelations. I think we are mentioned in there in other places yet, we just don't have the understanding as to how.

Well you can choose to believe Bible code and Bible prophecies. There are some that do. But this computer code used to find hidden meaning in the Bible was tested on "War and Peace" as well. And had just as many 'hidden meanings' and 'prophecies' within it. I choose not to believe anything is predicted, that we all have free will.

Maybe because it wasn't known as the USA at the time.

For those who say it didn't exist back then, you are wrong. The land was here. It just wasn't taken from the locals yet.
