We live in Mid West Toronto - St. Claire and Dufferin but are new to the area and need some recommendations.

Marcellos is near the south-east corner of St. Clair and Dufferin. Their food is good and their prices are reasonable for the quality. They're pretty popular though, so it might be tough to get a reservation for New Year's.
There's another place on Bloor (just east of Royal York Road) called Big Papas. Their food is really good too, and the portions are pretty big. The restaurant is very close to Royal York station if you want to take the subway.
