Tony Blairs wife Cherie is also a catholic. This did not stop her inviting a feng-shui expert to rearrange the furniture in 10 Downing Street. Nor does it stop her, as a judge, from wearing a 'magic pendant' known as a 'BioElectric Shield' in court. This apparently has a 'matrix of specially cut quartz crystals' that surround the wearer with 'a cocoon of energy' to ward off evil forces.
She employed a former member of the Exegesis cult as her 'lifestyle guru', and had her swollen ankles treated by a 'dowsing healer' who swung a crystal pendulum over them and fed her strawberry leaves. These were grown within the 'electro-magnetic field' of a neolithic circle he had built in his back garden.
Tony and Cherie underwent a 'rebirthing experience' in Mexico, in 2001
(from the 'Times':)
'The ceremony took place at dusk. Mr Blair and his wife, wearing bathing costumes, were led to the Temezcal, a brick-coloured pyramid on the South end of the beach ...
[Ms Aguilar] told the Blairs to bow and pray to the four winds as Mayan prayers were read out. Each side of the building is decorated with Mayan religious symbols; the sun and baby lizards representing spring and childhood; a crab to represent maturity and autumn; and a serpent - the most sacred in the Mayan Indian tradition - to symbolize winter and transformation...
Within the Temezcal, the Blairs were told to imagine they could see animals in the steam, and it was explained what such visions meant. They were told the Temezcal was like the womb, and those participating must confront their hopes and fears before 'rebirth' and venturing outside... Before leaving, the Blairs were told to scream out loud to signify the pain of rebirth. They then walked hand-in-hand down the beach to swim in the sea'
_______
Aah. Bless! In less enlightened times, the Catholic church would have burnt the pair of them.

Why do you question the Mr Blair's freedom of religion?
The entire world agreed to include freedom of religion in the United Nations' Universal Declaration of Human Rights. See Article 2: http://www.un.org/Overview/rights.html
The citizens of the United States think this freedom is just as important as the freedoms of speech or the press. All are part of the 1st Amendment of the U.S. Constitution: http://www.law.cornell.edu/constitution/constitution.billofrights.html
Even the Catholic Church seeks and supports the freedom of religion for all human beings.
In the Vatican II document, Declaration on Religious Freedom, Dignitatis Humanae (Human Dignity), the Church states:
The human person has a right to religious freedom. This freedom means that all men are to be immune from coercion on the part of individuals or of social groups and of any human power, in such wise that no one is to be forced to act in a manner contrary to his own beliefs, whether privately or publicly, whether alone or in association with others, within due limits.
For the entire document, see: http://www.vatican.va/archive/hist_councils/ii_vatican_council/documents/vat-ii_decl_19651207_dignitatis-humanae_en.html
With love in Christ.
