You can get a product that will take the smell out and not hurt your carpet. I don't remember what it's called, but it comes in a cylindrical white bottle with a white and green label, and I got it in the small pets section of Wal-Mart. It is made for deodorizing and cleaning small mammal cages, but what it does is break down the proteins in their urine and scent markings.

YES, he will... go get some Nature's Miracle, like the girl said, and saturate the area NOW. HURRY!! KidsNPets from WalMart works well too...and smells like cherries. But you have to do it NOW!!! There is NOTHING worse than male cat pee.

That's pretty much to be expected. You can buy a product called "Nature's Miracle" at pet stores, it's a liquid, and believe me it works! I've had the same problem and tried other products, and nothing else comes close. It's about $10 a bottle.

If you used enzymatic cleaning products then it should be fine. You can also make your own cleaning solution by mixing 10% biological (enzymatic) washing powder/liquid and warm water.
