With three kids my husband and I have needed a little more us time so we are planning to book a cruise for "us" time. With me being a huge romantic and my husband not he actually said he wanted to plan a romantic getaway. My mind got lost in thoughts of endless sex and white sandy beaches. Now he tells me he is planning on inviting other couples. I agree everything is always more exciting with friends, but I am not sure they fit in my vision of a romantic getaway. Is it ok for me to ask for him to have a romantic trip alone or am I being too boring just wanting to spend 4 days reconnecting in every which way possible?

Wow I totally relate..married almost 15 years..5 kids and hubby and I are also planning a romantic getaway for a week. Finding something we agree on is the trouble. I want quiet, relaxing maybe a cabin on a lake while he likes that idea he thinks he will get cabin fever and bored. We threw up the option of taking another couple to hang out with and such. I told him I want to be alone with him. No kids, no friends just he and I. Someday our kids will be all grown and we are going to be alone together and we are going to have a tough time of it if we can not be happy if we are alone together. So anyway we decided on a cabin on a lake in the Adirondacks so there are things to do if he gets cabin fever yet still quiet and relaxing if we choose and no friends.

I'd say go with the other couples. You can still break away for a few hours each day for private time to reconnect and have 6-8 hours each night alone together to sleep and or have crazy wild passionate beach sex. He can enjoy a few hours of "guy time" and you ladies can sit on the beach and tan together. Absence makes the heart grow fonder so when he finally gets back from a 2 hour session of golf (para-sailing, or whatever other "guy" things he wants to do that you wouldn't necessarily be down for) all sweaty and tan you can jump his bones since you'll probably be ultra horny.

i dont know, it seems that if he was planning the cruise to spend time with you he wouldnt be thinking about inviting friends

just tell him you wanted to spend time alone, and he should understand (do this BEFORE he invites anybody)

Talk to him about it. Maybe he doesn't understand that w/ only U 2 it would be the U time you wanted! find out if he plans on mixing? :~)
