Is anyone optimistic that Dennis Huth can restore the short track series to it's glory days of close competition and live national television broadcasting?

Wow! Some great answers so far! How difficult it will be to pick just one! It's great to hear from so many people that feel the way I do!

Are you listening, Dennis? We're your market.

Actually, the ASA is still around, albeit not in the glorious touring series they had. They still sanction the ASA Southern Modified Race Tour, the ASA Late Model Series, and the ASA Speed Truck Challenge.

hopefully, Huth will return some really great stock-car racing under the banner of ASA, with the old series being revived as it's premier series.

I hope someone can revive the series, and get it on a network. I used to watch ASA races on TNN. I only hope that when the series gets going again, they will experiment with a couple of big tracks on the circuit, like they tried to do in their last year of competition. A couple of mile and a halfs would make it a good show for the short trackers (I think!?).

Man that would be great!!!--I drove those short track Camaros way back . But I was a local driver and couldnt run the circuit-- I ran at IRP which is now O'Riellys race Park in Cleremont Ind. I did however make 2 Big Shows at qualified 29th and 32nd. I was racing against these future Nascar drivers who were Funded well enough to make the loop for all the 5000 dollars to win which was BIG MONEY back then--Mark Martin-Dick Trickle-Ernie Irvan and Rusty Wallace!!!!

I went to a lot of the ASA races. Those were the days. I sure hope he can get it back to what it was. I will be happy for them to just show up again around where I live.

I hope someone brings the excitement of short track racing to TV. Live would be even better. That way fans could become familiar with drivers as they work their way to the higher classes (NASCAR). I remember watching a teenage Jeff Gordon in USAC. You kind of understand where a driver is coming from (or has been to) when you get to see them work their way up.
