I know the PS3 can play both regular and Blu-Ray DVDs, but does the PS3 upconvert regular DVDs, like most current Blu-Ray players do?

Yes, the PS3 upscales DVD's and PS1/PS2 games to HD.

sure it upscales many times happening dvds to HD besides as upscales ps2 and ps1 video games to HD. 360 is $349 for the for the professional (20gig hard disk drive) + $179 for the hddvd addon= $528 + tax earlier you even purchase a pastime. The ps3 eighty gig variety is barely $499. and you do not have a team of addons cluttering the placement that is an multi functional console. The 360 has the separate ability brick + the hddvd stress + the console itself. It makes it a discomfort to pass it to a various room.

hell i didn't know they could do that,i did know that sony beta format although the standard format for t.v. studio so forth,was rendered obsolete by v.h.s.,so i'm still wary of sony who was a victim of their own arrogance as far as copyrighting the format.
