It's my girlfriend's birthday next week - we've been together for three months and I think she could be the one. I asked my mum for birthday present advice and she suggested this. What will it cost me and where can I get one?

A Dutch Oven is a big iron circular oven that you use to bake things in outdoors. Basically, you bake stuff in it by putting the food in the oven and covering it with coals.
You mom must think you go camping or are in the Boy Scouts or something.

It is a heavy cast aluminum (usually) large deep pan with a heavy lid. It is used in the oven to bake a roast with potatoes and carrots usually. Lots of other uses but that is the first one that came to mind. I think your girlfriend would not like a dutch oven. Come up with something less practical.

Hey, everyone loves their Mom and goes to them for advice..... but i would not suggest a Dutch Oven for your girls b-day.
A dutch oven is basically a large pot (usually cast iron) with a top.
Unless cooking is her major enjoyment something more feminine might be best. Perfume, a gift certificate to a local dept. store or her favorite store, a massage... are you following?

It's a type of cooking dish, probably available at any kitchen supply store. But if your mum suggested it, she's probably the best place to ask for more information on it.

well, either it's a real german made oven, or it's when you fart in bed and pull the blanket over her head and suffocate her with the smell.
