4. Todd Akin - MO. Son is a Marine combat engineer.
5. Tim Johnson - Democrat and subsequently the only one to be recognized in Michael Moore's film Fahrenheit 9/11.
6. John Kline - MN. his son Daniel is a Major, a Blackhawk pilot with the 101st. He is currently on his 3rd tour in Iraq.
7. Marilyn Musgrave - CO. Her son is in the Navy I believe.
You probably won't hear much about these people or their children who serve. They are not quite the media mic hog's that most politicians are. Besides, why would the media pay attention to them when there is so many other politicians willing to give their "opinions" (whether they believe in them or not) for their own personal gain.

As of 2004, I believe that there were at least seven members of congress with children in the military, and at least two members of Congress who have children in Iraq.
With close to 300 million people in America and our Active military personnel numbering approx 1.4 million, you should expect 1.4/300 congressmen to have a child in the military. If they have 7/535, this is actually greater than the average.
1.4/300= .00467% as compared to 7/535= .01308%
Congress actually has a higher percentage of children in the military than the US population.

Have you ever served in the military at all? You can't complain unless you've done more if not better.
