Throughout history the tattoo bears the mark of paganism, demonism, Baal worship, shamanism, mysticism, heathenism, cannibalism and just about every other pagan belief known. The tattoo has NEVER been associated with Bible Believing Christians. And whenever and wherever, in history Christianity appears – tattoos disappear. The only exception -- 20th century, lukewarm, carnal, disobedient, Laodicean Christians.
Leviticus 19:28 is the Christian (or so-called Christian?) tattooist and tattoo-bearer's worst nightmare. The Lord plainly, clearly, strongly, and without a doubt – condemns the tattoo.
Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.
Leviticus 19:28
But by far the Christian tattooers favorite excuse for disobeying Leviticus 19:28 is the "that means nor print any marks upon you – for the DEAD". It’s ok, as long it’s not for the dead". See the "for the dead!!! . .for the dead!!!!".
Is it ok to practice satanic bloodletting, self mutilation or cutting of the flesh as long as it’s not for the dead? It’s in the same verse. . . Hmmm. . .?
Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.
Leviticus 19:28
Notice also, the phrase "for the dead" is ONLY referencing the "cuttings in your flesh". The condemnation of "nor print ANY marks upon you" is not qualified by the phrase "for the dead". Also, if you’ll notice the verse clearly says "ANY marks" period.
The Bible, from cover to cover, and over and over, condemns rebellion. The Lord God considered rebellion so serious – He compared rebellion to witchcraft. And may I remind you, witchcraft was punishable by death!
"For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, . . . "
1 Samuel 15:23
"Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live."
Exodus 22:18
Throughout history tattoos have symbolized rebellion. There’s nothing normal about a tattoo. A tattoo screams of unabashed rebellion and deviancy.
That harmless little "innocent" tattoo may have a little secret hiding inside.
Underneath that harmless tattoo is a very serious risk of acquiring a deadly blood-borne disease such as AIDS, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, tetanus, syphilis, tuberculosis and other blood-born diseases.

The bible says that our bosdies are a precious gift from God, and are to be the Temple of the Holy Spirit, so tattoos and piercings are vandalism.
(P.S. I have two tattoos from the days when I didn't know better.)

He loves the rose on my ankle because it is pretty.
Actually, I think God has a lot more important things to worry about than whether we have tattoos or piercings.

Its written in his word
Not to put marks upon yourselfs
or cut ones self for the dead
many people tattoo themselves as memorials to dead loved ones , and the Bible says not to do it
It is a form of idolatry...upholding the dead and or subject above in esteem rather then GOD
thus an graven image whether it be on the skin or on the ground it is still a thing to draw ones attention to themselves and or for others to look upon in admiration........
ITS idolatry...........
If you have one ....cant change it i dont guess...but if you know the Truth , dont do it !!!!!!
and piercings are much the same....its a way for others to see or to attract attention to ones self.........so take it however you want
If the attention is on you , its not on God
and the bible says to Dress modestly and dont let your adorning be the OUTWARD adorning...such as putting on of gold or silver or such as that......and thats not saying one CANT , thats saying DONT do it to make ones self appear to be something They are not for admiration..........BUT
TO let your ADORNING BE THE INNER ADORNING of thew HEART and a good conscience towards GOD
Professing HOLINESS..........
Thats what the WORD of GOD says
and if it says that
SO DOES GOD
CAUSE HIM and HIS WORD are the same !!!
JESUS is the LIVING WORD

I think it depends on where the piercing is and what the tattoo is about.
The old testament says nipple rings are okay.
The new testament says tattoos that are covered by a cardigan sweater are alright, so long as they are not blasphemos.

the body is the temple. we should treat it as such. i have tattoos and a hole in my ear from times past, but the Lord has forgiven me for those. i believe that once you are saved you no longer have to worry about what you did in the past.

I think that projecting beliefs into an imaginary being is a exercise in futility. I'd also say that a god that was concerned with your diet, hair style, or manner of dress is an extremely petty god.

The same thing most fathers would "think" about their kids punching holes on their flesh and drawing pictures on themselves: "Dangerous, and childish."
