I can see both your point and your parent's. Your parents should encourage you to be friends with both the male and female gender, there is certainly nothing wrong with it, plus all this taboo they are putting on being around boys could even resort to you being rebellious and pursuing boys in a whole new way. However, your parents may not trust teenage boys motives or want people getting the wrong idea about you resulting in rumors and a bad rep.
I guess the best thing you could do is to discuss both your feelings and your parent's feelings on this matter. Express your point and concerns and allow them to do the same. Be understanding, patient and respectful. Also, ask them if they will meet these boys and talk with them....show them that the only motive you all have is to have fun and play music. Maybe your parents would agree if you had band practices at your home and if they could go to any gigs that you guys may have.

No...
On this one...
You're gonna have to pull the old "bait & switch" routine...
You tell them you're going over to "Gina's house," but you're REALLY going to band practice, and you either get "Gina, or whoever the girl is" to come with you and "back you up" if your parents call...or have her "answer" if she's not at the practice, or whatever...just cover all the bases, be home by midnight (or whatever the rule is), and when the band gets ready to perform, record, and whatever...
You do the same thing...
(Disclaimer: If you are "serious" about singing, and NOT letting the band members all get a chance at impregnating you with an unwanted fetus, and NOT using the practice sessions as hedonistic opportunities to get drunk and wasted...then I give my thumbs up to this project...don't disappoint uncle Damn Pocket Protector by behaving in a adolescently unprofessional way...)
Signed...a fellow band musician...welcome to the world of rock music, girl...if you take it seriously...it will be a lot more fun and fulfilling...a little "parental deception" is allowed in this circumstance...rock on...

This is a tough one. Have they ever heard you sing? You need to convince them that you are good and there is nothing more satisfying then expressing yourself through music. You need to have them meet the guys who will then convince them that they will have the utmost respect for you and will look after you. Next comes the deal. They should give you and the band 3 months to practice and then listen to the band (make sure you learn songs they will like for this). From there its up to how you sound.

I noticed you did not give your age... maybe that has something to do with why your parents won't let you join. Also how good is the band, will it take you away from your schooling, you just left out to much for me to take your side or your parents side.

Seriously, just give up.
Female singers don't get far in bands anyhow.
Trust me.
If you really want to do music, just go solo, pick up a $60 acoustic guitar, and start playing.
Instead, pick up a legitimate hobby like sewing, or volleyball. Or if you're into that "rock" scene, seriously learn how to play guitar or take a painting class or something.

Get another girl to join.
or
Tell them that being creative is important for joining very good universities, tell them that you need to start focusing on a lot of extra curricular activities so that you'll be noticed by the school boards.
that should get them to open up a bit then you can add that you'll try to get another girl to join. Hook, line and sinker

As a parent........perhaps you should invite your parents to see you with the band. You can prove that you are really good. You can make other compromises and stick to them. Don't argue with your parents because they'll be even more opposed.

try to get your parents to meet the people you will be preforming with ,if you are still at school/college can a tutor help by talking to your parents for you. i hope they realise by being so over protective they will turn you against them rather than the reverse. good luck.

Play a song infront of your parents. You have to open your parents eyes and there mind to see how happy it will make you and so they can see how bad you want this opportunity.
