When I was little we lived in a two-story house. I was about two, and my mom worried about me climbing the stairs. She told me not to because I was going to fall down the stairs and kill myself. One day she heard a thump and screaming.
She came running in and found me hysterical at the bottom of the stairs. I was crying and yelling "I'm dead! I'm dead! I fell down the stairs and now I'm dead!"
She was laughing so hard she couldn't pick me up.
Thanks, Mom.

Lying might not have been their intention while we were growing up. As kids, we usually asked a lot of questions and because we were too young to understand the real world, they made an explanation that made us think that everything is magical. They wouldn't want us to get exposed to all the cruelty in the world at such an age. But then we grew up. There was nothing that they could do. We learned that life was not all ponies, castles and magic. We learned more than we could and sometimes we learned the hard way. These might have made us crazy if we didn't know how to cope. And i guess that's it, they lied that life was ALWAYS beautiful. but I'm glad they did because growing up would have never been this fun and full of learning.

I was brought up in foster care and one of their best lies was because there were so many. Is that my sister and I were lucky to have a home like theirs. It was a nightmare.. We were badly abused. We were used as slaves, had to eat vomit when we were forced to eat something because of no appetite. Had wet underwear put over our heads and were made to stand out in the back yard at night for having any accidents. This is only a little bit of what happen in this home we were told we were lucky we had.

All the classics already mentioned here: wearing nice underwear or not getting medical help, crossed eyes or making faces will get stuck forever, Halloween candy might have LSD in it, if I don't clean my ears every day I'll go deaf, etc.
But the most harmful one was that Jesus would make me live forever. It led to risky behavior because I wasn't afraid of dying.
But whatever...I still wear clean undies (and I haven't been refused medical care) I clean my ears every day and I haven't gone deaf. But I'm only alive today because of sheer dumb luck.

If u make a ugly face its going 2 stay like that, At 8pm the devil, comes out and takes the little kids who are not sleeping. Ha ha I was sleeping. She had eyes in the back of her head and knows what I'm doing. If u don't brush ur teeth the evil tooth fairy will come and pull them out.

Santa Claus.
Easter Bunny.
Tooth Fairy.
If I did something bad my mom would say she was gonna let the boogy man eat me. Me and my siblings would get so scared..that she would have to promise she wouldn't let him..of course..while laughing really hard.
If you eat a seed then it'll grow in your stomach. haha..i started crying one time b/c i swallowed one....my parents laughed so hard.
If you make that face..it'll stay like that.
That vegetables had feelings and that if you didn't eat them they would cry. I was one of those kids that loved to laugh..so it seemed like torture for me...I ate all my veges though. =]]]
They lied a lot to protect me I think, someone said earlier that parents lie..not because they want us to think they are liars, but to protect us from the world, that is so true. I mean, I was so innocent back then..that my parents had to explain that not everyone was good. It hurt..but I'm really glad they let me stay a kid..I was so happy..and that was their goal. I'm grateful for my parents. [even though they drive me crazy.]

-I remember when I was about eleven I told my mom that my period was late for about two months, she was calm but she wanted to see if I was having sex, testing me if I even knew what sex was. So she said if a guy touches your ankle you'll get pregnant (just to see if i really knew how the process really worked). I was like shocked and I believed her!! haha.
- If you try to roll your eyes all the way back it might get stuck in the back of your head
- If you keep cracking your knuckles your bones will break soon
