Do you think two people who are in a serious relationship should see if they are sexually compatible before thinking about getting married?

Gen, nobody is saying it's everything. But I feel you are risking divorce if you aren't sexually compatible.

Of course. Sometimes people just don't click sexually, and since sex is a big part of a long-term relationship it should be at least tried before a serious commitment.

There is more to this question and it does not have a simple answer. First of all, sexual compatability is very important, however some couples are very quick to decide they are not sexually compatable just because something does not work. Secondly, sex in a relationship is a reflection of the relationship you have. If you are not very close, sex will seem distant, you won't talk about what you want and therefore the sex will seem incompatable. If you argue, sex is likely to be stressful as you are weighed down by your problems. Unltiately it is very important to be sexually compatable, and if you are really not this will eventually drive each other away. However the answer to this should be clear from your relationship, and I believe if you both put the effort into your sex life there is no reason it can't work. Ultimately it is important, but do not be fooled into thinking the relationship is over, it just means it is important to talk about it and work at it, but enjoy it too!

Intimacy with someone you want to be with forever is very important.....there should be a mutual understanding and desire for each other....sometimes circumstances get in the way of sex after marriage, but I believe in a healthy, loving relationship, desire is for each other.....if you constantly turn down your spouse, it won't work.....a sexual relationship is not the only reason for getting married, however, it is an important part.....why on earth would you want to spend the rest of your life with someone you don't desire? If you are in love with someone, you will want to be with them....there will be no thinking twice about it.....I think it's very important to know what your partner expects and desires before taking the matrimonial leap......don't marry for money, don't marry for security and certainly don't marry because you don't want to be alone and you think it's your last chance......marry for love

Personally i say save sex for after marriage, but i guess if you really wanna see then it could work because if you arent sexually compatable and you find this out you would have hjust paid for the wedding and now you would probably want divorce so i say it can go either way

Hey, if you'd asked me that question a few years ago I would have said hell yeah! Now......... I really don't think so. It's all about communication and understanding. Talk to each other about likes and dislikes :) To put it simply, I had an amazing relationship with my ex and would have married her even if she couldn't have sex. I guess if one of you wants it 10 times a day and the other once a week, you gotta talk! Peace.

Agreed. Sexually incompatible has a 95% chance of ending in a breakup.
