Can you offer more details? Why is the child's hand "hard with wrinkles", the poor thing. Does he/she have a disorder of some kind?

I recommened taking the child to see a doctor, as that needs to be treated, but to me that sounds a bit like exma (which I had as a child) this could have been brought on by the cold, so I'd recommened taking the child to the pharmasist before the doctors and showing them and they may give you E45 or Betnovate... or say they dont know and they recommened going to the doctor, also I wouldn't recommened rubbing holistic things into the hand until you have seen the doctor/pharmasist as holistic methods can aggravate exma and make it a lot worse!

Take them to the derm...

try rubbing pure vitamin E on their hands and covering them with a plastic bag for over an hour. The longer the better....could help soften up the skin.

Ask a doctor or properly medically qualified person, a dermatologist perhaps, but not us. The child needs proper professional treatment not a bunch of opinions from amateurs.
