FICA is Social Security. FICA is 6.2% and Medicare is 1.45% for a total of 7.65% of your Gross check. Currently you pay FICA until your gross wages reach $97,500.00 and you never stop paying Medicare. However the government usually increases the wage limit on the FICA withholding annually.

Hope that answers your question.
