i know that this boy at school likes me because i have heard that he is always talking about me to his friends and saying i'm pretty and whatever .i talk to him on msn and things and we're quite friendly.i know that he likes me so why won't he ask me out ?

he might be shy, or afraid of rejection. Sometimes you have to make the first move. Give hints that you're interested,he'll come around

Maybe he's nervous and afraid he will be rejected. That happened to me. I liked this guy and I knew he liked me but everyone knew that I turned down a lot of guys so he was a little afraid I would reject him.

He's probably working up the nerve.
You could give him some openers that make it easier for him (I don't recommend you asking him out-- guys like to feel like they've "won" something).
Drop hints like there's this movie you really want to see, or that you don't know what you're going to do this weekend... stuff like that. Hopefully he'll pipe up.

probably HE DOESN'T HAVE MONEY...of course when he asks u out he will need money for his plans on where to take u...on the activities that u will do--watching movie or something...and after that if u two are getting along well already, he would need to keep up...esp. in the courtship stage wherein he has to pay whenever u're together...fare,snacks, plus cellphone load...ETC...

this isn't very uncommon many guys are afraid of rejection so they don't say anything for a while, just be patient eventually hes gonna tell you how he feels.
