I only buy Ford cars. I support the Domestic Auto Industry. Keep the middle class in America.

They are also built in Wayne, MI assembly plant. Additionally, Japan doesn't import cars the way we import there vehicles. So, I've decided to only buy domestic vehicles.

Thank you for supporting your own country. They are very nice vehicles on gas and reliability. I would definitely buy one. http://www.fordvehicles.com/cars/focus/

The Focus is a top quality small car that makes those crap imports look stupid. You buy Ford cars and stay away from the imports. If they dont like Ford cars, then that just tells you the Japanese sales tactics have brainwashed them which is what they wanted. The Focus has won all kinds of awards including best car for the money. Buying an import is like buying something at the dollar store. The package always looks good, but after a week the cheap crap falls to pieces. How to fix it ? Dont shop at the dollar store. Go ask the people in maintinence and repaire under Honda and Toyota why they are having so many problems with their super crappers, especially the newer ones.
The smart choice.......
Buy Ford.
The uneducated choice based on hearsay.......
Imports
Go test drive the Honda, Toyota, then the Ford. The facts will speak for themselves, and I guarantee you will drive away in the Focus.

Did you know that the Ford Focus was designed in Europe? There really are few such things as entirely "domestic" products anymore.
The Ford Focus is a decent car but not a spectacular one. The reviews I have read have indicated that the quality of this vehicle has been dropping since it was originally introduced. It is very popular in Europe (the European models are made in Europe), where the quality seems to be higher. (I don't think this is an indication of the capabilities of American workers, rather an indication of the priorities of the American division of Ford.)
There are good car reviews at http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com as well as many magazines such as Car and Driver, Consumer Reports, etc.
Many of the Asian vehicles on the market are made in the US, so don't rule them out. Many apparently domestic vehicles are made in Mexico or even South Korea (GM makes vehicles in both areas and markets them under its US brands). The first digit of the VIN will tell you where the vehicle was made; 1 = US, 2 = Canada, 3 = Mexico, 4 = US, W = Germany, K = South Korea, J = Japan...

The Ford Focus, in salesman and mechanic terms, is a "throw away " car. They may be mileage friendly, but they depreciate in value so fast that by the time they're paid off, there isn't much of a trade in value. I'm not bashing Ford, the F-Series trucks are the best around, but the Focus is what it is, a low priced disposable car.

As far as domestic small cars go, they are second only to the Saturn Astra. They are good, reliable cars. Yes, they are throw away cars, but all small cars are so you can't really hold it against the Focus.

I bought a 2002 Ford Focus brand new off the lot. It really has been a good car. I drive a lot and it has over 120,000 miles on it. It is also good on gas mileage.

I work at a ford dealership and the focus is a goos car for the price. just remember its not a lincoln. i haven't seen any bad problems with them and they get pretty good gas mileage. the biggest thing about the focus is you have to follow the recomended services to closely. change the oil, fuel filter, and coolant when it is recommended.
