It's kind of late, but if you could talk to your doctor he could probably give you something for anxiety. If you can't get him you could try deep breathing. Breath in through your nose to the count of ten and breath out through your mouth for ther count of ten, Do this about 10 times. Or, you could go to the drug store or just about anywhere that sells vitamins and get some VALERIAN ROOT, It smells really bad but it will calm you down.

Hi, Ive been working in aviation for 11years. I see the same aircraft take off in the mornings and do several hops before returning to us in the evening. There are an enormous amout of checks to run through on any given flight. Statistically you have much more of a chance of having a fatal accident driving to the airport then on an aircraft. Have a drink if you think you can stomache it but remember 1 drink on in the air is the equivalent to 3 on the ground so go easy. Dont be embarressed to tell the staff there are literally hundreds like you, they are trained to deal with these kind of things. Alot of passengers use bach flower remedies which are natural herbal remedies that help calm the nerves. It's extremely rare aircraft just fall. Bare in mind the amount of aircraft that are actually flying and the amount that actually have and emergency. Even in the event of an emergency most aircraft will land without incident. Sit back watch the movie, listen to music and just regard it as a chance to sit and do nothing, so rare these days that you get the chance. I hopeyou have a good trip.

I am also scared of flying, sometimes. It helps to bring a really good book, one that completely occupies my mind, so I do not think about flying. For me it also works being very tired, it puts me in a drowsy state and makes me too tired to worry. Good relaxing music helps, espcially during turbulances, which are very scary for me.
Avoid reading or watching anything scary before flying even not related to flying.
Try to enjoy the rocking motion, as if you were on a boat, or some other place were you feel safe.
Chat with the people around you. If you get engaged in an interesting conversation, you will forget all about your fears . ..

Just try to relax, you'll be just fine! Flying is safer than driving in a car. Bring some things with you to yourself occupied....ipod, book, sudoku, crossword puzzles, laptop to play games on??? Whatever interests you. Also, don't be afraid to tell the flight attendants you are a nervous flyer....they will be able to comfort you. If you do hit turbulence, don't worry! A plane has never gone down due to turbulence. Have fun in LA!

Take a deep breath!

Flying isn't scary at all! The pilots and crew are trained, and know what they're doing! I used to be scared because all you hear about on the news is a plane crashing into a mountain! Trust me, that rarely happens!

Take a CD/Mp3/iPod to block out the rest of the sounds!

Be prepared, it can get bumpy, but don't flip out! It happens all the time! :)

Bring something to read!

I sympathise with you.
Try not to think in terms of height.
When you are worried in the plane just look at the floor. It is only as far away as your eyes.

The terror of flying is transitory> If you are old enough have a couple of drinks, (do not get slated) By the time you have got on, got settled, had a couple of drinks, you will be at your destination.
Enjoy the flight.

I advise taking a chilled pill like Tylenol or Advil. bear in mind - in case you have an Ipod touch or a telephone you may continually message your mom or consult together with her in the previous the flight. If achievable, you may get an unattended minor service so which you do no longer experience lost. you may deliver a image of your mom to examine in the time of the flight in case you desire. you additionally can deliver something to distract you from the sensation of lacking your mom. wish I helped and have a secure flight. xoxo

I don't know how old you are, but if you are of age, have a couple of drinks before getting on. It will relax you. My husband has to do this before he flys. Good luck.
