Me and the wife are both mid 50's. Last night I had a dream we were in one of those little smart cars and got hit by a train, then we woke up on a beach back in our 20's, tan and paddling surfboards at a beach in Hawaii. I remember the beach from our honeymoon. The rest of the dream was us riding giant tsunamis all over the world and visiting different tourist sites.

Holy Cow! You don't say if you both died when the train hit, but the dream implies that you did, and then were "reborn". Death in dreams is often about transitions from one phase of life to another. When a couple reaches their 50's, their kids are out of the house, or well on their way to it, they don't have as much responsibility as they did in their 30's with a young family. Once the kids are out of the house, an older couple often starts to rediscover themselves as a *couple*, as opposed to being *parents*. I think the imagery bodes well for your relationship in this time of transition.... You use the word "tsunami", but I get the impression that rather than viewing it in the sense that most people view a tsunami as a destructive wave, it seems from the imagery that you and your wife are riding a wave together, that it's an exciting phase where you visit new places, and enjoy leisure time together......I get a sense of regeneration and excitement in this dream...

My guess...you are desiring (or anticipating) a radical change in your life. Perhaps you are contemplating doing something that is completely different from what you've done in the past. The goal of your desire is designed to reset your life to a type of joy, happiness and well being, you recall from your early days and maybe don't experience as often now. The desire may be the thrill of having infinite possibilities in front of you and the uncertainty of knowing that one of them will work. I think your tsunamis riding reflects your concern that the new thing you will be doing will be tumultuous compared to the relative stability you have worked to obtain in your life now. But even though you are concerned about the fact of the change, you think the change has a lot of potential for being good, beneficial and adding a certain "joie de vivre" to your life, still you are concerned that the change will bring about less of the stability that it was important for you to achieve thus far in real life.

John Tesh would be an example of what I'm talking about. He had an excellent career in broadcast television, but left it to follow his passion in music recording artist. You might use him as an example to help you decide what to do.

I have found that while people can dream about what is going to happen in the future, and some do that regulary, most of the time dreams are a reflection of what is going on in our daily lives right now. The best interpretation of your dream is done by you. Listen to what's going on in your life and recognize the symbols in your dreams. Often times the mind works things out in ones' dreams.

Best of luck!

wow. i think maybe you ate too much before you went to bed. but basically dreams are a manifestation of the things that we think about during the day and things that are in our subconcious.

seems like subconciously, you miss the excitement of being young. also it could be that you listened to the news and heard about the tsunami anniversary of a couple years back where people were on their honeymoons and the latest one that happened last week. and subconciously it reminded you of when you were on your honeymoon and at the beach, so in your dream you dreamed about it but in a mixed up way.

The car and the train are your desire to travel. The regression in age is your missing the excitment of your youth. Perhaps you can initiate some excitement...interesting to note that your wife is with you meaning that you want only HER to be included and not some other woman.

This dream was for your entertainment. I think you are happy and confident. You may miss some old times, but thinking about it brings you joy, not contempt. You are very creative. Your not afraid of death. You are in good shape for the rest of your life. Maybe you should travel.
