The PS3's price will most likely never go down to $200 bucks until maybe 4 years from now. I think that the lowest price that the PS3 will ever go down to is at least $200 dollars for the 40GB and maybe $250-$300 for the 80GB PS3.
But I really don't expect another price drop on the PS3 until at least 6-12 months from now, and if it does drop again, I don't think that it will drop $100 dollars... maybe $50-$75 dollars.

well the nintendo gamecube started out at about $300 an a long time ago the N64 started out as about $199 so if you wait about 3-4 years it could even get down to about $200

I highly doubt Sony will do that maybe in 2 years, when Blu-Ray is easier to manufacture or cheaper other than that not likely!
