If your TV isn't HD Ready than there is nothing you can do with that TV to get HD. The older, non-HD TV's do not have the resolution or the circuitry to support the HD signal content. You will need to get a new TV if you want HD.

You can watch "HD" programing on your old TV, it just will not be in HD resolution.

The most picture resolution that analog TVs can display is what you get from a DVD player. That 's about the quality you can expect from any converter box.

That's true regardless if the converter is built into a cable box, built into a satellite receiver, or a $20 (after coupon) over the air converter for free TV.
