I had my Vista remmoved from my laptop by some guy who services laptops. After this I found out that my D partition of my hard disk got erased.
The guy who serviced my laptop denies that he erased my D partition.
What could have happened ?
Thanks

The "tech" that did this work is telling the complete truth. He must have formatted the hard drive when he installed (I'll guess XP) and he not only formatted the the primary partition but also the partition that contained your "recovery" data. If that is the case, you have lost all possibility of ever going back to Vista without purchasing it again. He also lost all of the drivers that were stored in this recovery partition also.

Just a note. I run a small computer repair business, and before we remove Vista we have a good talk with the customer, and so fare only one person has gone through with this process. But, we do not loose the operating system and the data that is stored in the recovery partition. We first back that up.
