I'm 13 and I should be praying 5 times a day now, but I'm not! =[ Has anyone got any (serious) suggestions about how to learn how to pray quickly so I can connect with God?

I am not sure why you have to pray 5 times a day but I will just assume you are Muslim. I talk to God all day long and I feel that it is a form of prayer. For example, I will thank God for something as simple as a good grade on my homework or ask for God to stay near me and give me the right words to say to my boss.
I feel connected a great portion of my day.....hope this helps.

It's not how often you pray as in number of times...It's quality time, really talking and connecting with God, like your loving Father in Heaven that He is. We are supposed to pray without ceasing... that means an attitude of prayer all day long... Attitude of prayer means listening to hear when God speaks to you, as well, as talking to God.
God isn't the Sears Wishbook, He's your loving heavenly Father. He gives all good things to freely... Do you have sunshine or rain today where ever you live? We need both to survive and God knows this and provides it. Did you wake up in a warm house, if you live in a cooler climate? Or, a cool house if you live in a warmer climate? God provided the house, the money to pay for it and good parents to give you these things.
Follow the Lord's prayer as an example of how to pray. Please don't pray the prayer exactly by memorized rote. God wants you to talk Him, in your own words and in your own way... He made you, He knows what you're trying to say.

One need not pray to be a spiritual person or connect with a higher power. And all the prayer in the world won't help those who are insincere about their beliefs.
Maybe you should look within for help, instead of expecting it from without.

I don't understand why you should be praying 5 times a day.
Prayer is not a 'should'.
It is not a duty.
It should be a pleasure, something we desire to do.
The 'Lord's Prayer' (at Matthew 6:9....) shows we might want to mention things related to God first, then talk about our personal concerns.
Don't follow a certain structure, just let your heart speak.

Love God every second in your life. Think of Him. Be sincere and pure. Dedicate all your activities to Him alone. This will be the best worship ever. See Him everywhere. He is The All Sustainer. Know this truth and you will connect with God.

How about reading one and being consistent with it, and then as your are consistent with the other, add another prayer i.e. Be consistent in reading fajr, then add Zhurh and so forth.
Make plenty of Du'a for Allah (swt) to give you the strenght.

you dont have to pray to connect with God, and you dont NEED to pray 5 times a day. It should not be a chore to talk to God, it should be something you feel and want to do.
Just pray to him whenver you want to talk to him or tell Him something ^_^
All you need is to have faith and love Him
