I'd be the guy who sends his friend down to the cellar and then jumps in the car and drives off, only to find that whatever-it-was is lurking in the back seat waiting to eat my head! (there's no escape folks, sorry!)

If you were to get in the car and flee, Sure you could get away pretty fast, but what are the chances that the Killer is in the back seat, unsee through all the black. And no matter how far you can get your *** away, he is still waiting to shove a pitchfork through your neck because Mommy wasn't nice and didn't let him go to the prom with Susie Sanders, due to the fact that he has to do chores out in the barn. (or something cheesy and stupid along those lines. :P )

If you go into the Cellar, well, that's a different story. Two types of Cellars come to mind. Storm Cellars, which i guess are pretty much those rooms with nothing in them that no one knows why the hell they keep there, or a tool Cellar.
Hopefully it's the latter, because if so, you can get yourself a weapon and try and survive as long as you can.

So i guess when it comes down to it, I would go into the cellar (only if it had tools in it). Because, Sure I'm going to die, but at least i get to go with some kick *** fight to cheesy music, instead of getting plain ol' blindsided by the killer. :D

If I could, I'd go into the house where the cellar is and get some bottles, rip some strips of clothing off the people's dead bodies, use the gasoline to make some explosives, then get in the car. if the thing was in the back seat, I'd light one of the explosive/firebomb contraptions I had made, and break it, so the car would be engulfed in flames, and drive it off a cliff, claiming my life and that of the psycho's
