You need to look up the definition of an idol. I'll try to help.

An idol is an object that is worshiped and revered as a god. It could be a statue, a tree, an animal, or even intangible things like money, power, or sex. They are placed ahead of Almighty God and adored as a god.

The opposite if true of Catholics. The statues displayed in our churches are merely 3-D pictures of sainted persons, people whose lives we respect and try to imitate so that we can be closer to God. If we were to treat them as gods, then it could be fairly stated that we were engaging in idolatry, but a simple examination of the definition and practice shows otherwise.

Also, we did not change the Ten Commandments. Prove your assertion. We are bound to and follow the same commandments as any other Christian, even as the Jewish people from which Christianity is rooted in.

Thanks for reading my answer. God bless.

What's really a shame is you and your lies.

You should do just a little research, from Catholic sites, not the chick tracts, before you make such a fool of yourself.

People like you who call themselves Christians are the ones who give Christianity a bad name. Shame on you.

I just answered a similar question. My answer is that God warns before even worshipping an image to NOT EVEN MAKE ONE. Why? Because God knows that if man makes an image; he will worship it.
Exodus 20:4
"You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below.

Now this is a good one why didn't I think of it first. Maybe the roots to it lay in the false idols and those who the Church worship are those of Saints.
