Since there is a new medication on the market that help with Fibromyalgia I would have to say that it is real. The medical profession use to use fibromyalgia as a "catch all" phrase but they have been taking it much more seriously in the past 10 years. I have included a link to the mayo clinic for more information on this condition.

It is very real. I live with it every day. The pain can range from a dull ache to a mind boggling pain that is beyond description. Rarely does any pain medication truly help. I am on Lyrica, "the only FDA approved medication to treat fibromyalgia." It has not stopped my feet from burning like they are sitting on ice blocks even though it was used for neuropathic pain before being approved for fibromyalgia. I have tried antidepressants, NSAIDs, and opioids. All gave limited relief, and all came with side effects. There are other aspects of fibro other than pain. Fatigue, insomnia, restless leg syndrome, TMJ are just a few of the added miseries. Never doubt that fibromyalgia is real. It sounds like you know someone with it. Please believe them & be patient & caring with them. It is one of those invisible diseases. I have been told so many times that I looked great when I felt so bad. Please be supportive. Fibromyalgia can be a lonely road.

I do not study the disorder or non-life of it, however all people on those replies turns out to get very irritated approximately it being false, so I do believe they have got a few type of sickness, bodily or intellectual. I believe it's anything that demands to be researched extra. Maybe those men and women are having very equivalent signs and feature very special sicknesses and intellectual ailments, respectively of path. But I do understand that RA (Rheumatoid Arthritis) is an overly truly disorder, explanations huge soreness if now not handled briskly, and has evidence of life. If you've gotten any signs (soreness) of joint or muscle, ask your health practitioner for an RA scan. But if you'll be able to are living with out soreness and it is only each as soon as in a whilst, might be it would be intellectual, a few of these men and women would simply be hypochondriacs, or might be they have got a few mind health problem or bodily harm. Maybe there will likely be a scan for it or forged evidence at some point, but when you'll be able to are living, Live. Do now not wish to be ill, wish to get bigger. We all get random aches and soreness with age in any case, so do not be a type of men with a harm finger or anything that's within the handicapped car parking zone with an off street truck, whilst there's a wheelchair certain individual looking to park with a handicapped available van. Know what I imply? Possibly truly, however is also misdiagnosed or now not truly.

Yes, It is real. My husbands sister has it and it is very real. The pain is excruciating. She is half the person she used to be. She takes medications that have such awful side effects, I couldn't imagine someone taking them if they really didn't need them. She used to go out and enjoy life and now at the age of 36 she stays at home all the time and is in constant pain.

Fibromyalgia is as real as you and me. Many suffer from it, and modern science can only mask the symptoms. They can't cure it yet.

Yes, it is very real. The people who have it are mostly in constant pain in every joint every day. Feet hurt, ankles, knees, elbows, hands, neck, shoulders etc etc. I have a friend with it and she is only 31 and walks like a very old person.
She works two jobs and goes to school! So it isn't like she is trying to get out of anything or get anything.
Real
