Can anyone suggest a liquer or two, and some fruit and juices/mixers to go along with these liquors, that wouldn't cost much to make some cool new drinks for New Years? Btw, I love gimmlets, but I'm out of Rosie's Lime Juice - I plan to get some today. 3 or 4 drink suggestions would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

You could do a "gin sours" similar to whiskey sours, but substitute the gin for whiskey

Orange blossoms are good if you like orange juice, it's just orange juice and gin- similar to a screwdriver, which you could also make with the vodka.

A washington apple is made with apple schnapps, cranberry juice, and whiskey, but you can substitute your gin for the whiskey. This is a pretty good drink for celebrating New Years.

Get some grenadine and do a vodka sunrise.

If you like shots, pick up some apple juice and cinnamon. Take a lemon, and coat it with cinnamon. Lick the cinnamon off, take your shot which you make using 1 part vodka to 1 part apple juice. Tastes sorta like apple pie.

If you wanted to buy a bit more alcohol, you could expand your drink making capabilities... something like So Co could mix with vodka and orange juice to become a southern screw. Add amaretto and a splash of sweet and sour and some oj to that and you have an alabama slammer. If you'd like a good drink to help you celebrate and toast to someone, get some champagne and mix that with vodka and orange juice. It's very refreshing and a great New Years drink. If you don't want to buy champagne, substitute sprite or 7up instead. If you want something very festive and like a minty taste, do a "Kandy Kane" by mixing peppermint schnapps, vodka, sprite, and grenadine.

Or, just be creative. You know what tastes you like, if you prefer something a bit sweeter or more bitter/sour, and you know what fruits you like. Go to the store, buy your favorite fruits or fruit juices, maybe pick up some creme soda, sprite, and cola, stroll down the liquer aisle and grab whatever tickles your fancy, then go home and get creative!

I think you cannot beat some Gin on the rocks with a good stuffed olive for a garnish.
