Normally cruise lines do the South America Itinerary in what is the summer season for the southern hemisphere. that mean if you go between November and March they are having summer.

We are going on our South America cruise next March through April and we plan to take fall clothing, like long sleeved shirts, sweaters, and long pants. We will take shorts and swim wear for the pools, hot tub and gym. I know on our ship we will have a covered pool area called the Solarium. We'll also take light jackets and hoodies just in case its cool.

A few months ago we talked with people who had done the South America cruise and were told that parts of the cruise it was pretty cold. So we will go prepared, but not overdo it with a lot of bulky clothes; just enough to keep warm when necessary.

We have done the Alaska cruise and the Baltic cruise and these type clothes worked fine on both of them.

It depends on how far south you are going. Check out the weather at the port of calls andpack accordingly.
