What's the difference between Symantec pcAnywhere Host and Symantec pcAnywhere.?

The host is just the portion of the program that allows the computer it is on to be accessed and controlled by another.

The full program installs the host and the client, so that computer can access & control another, or it can be accessed/controlled by another, depending on which program is running. Installing the full program puts both halfs on it, but does not mean both are running - you still have to 'start' the one you want - either host or client - by launching it.
