God created man. We know we didn't create anything - except the mess we live in! - but thats because we have free will and can choose to do good or bad things. God is 'wholly other' - not susceptible to peer reviewed experimental proof, but something you make a decision about as a result of personal experience. If you want some challenging reading on the 'God and Science' debate, try some of John Polkinghorne's books - they are very readable and very thought provoking

There is no proof that any god type being has ever existed. There is plenty of proof that mankind created their own gods in mankind's own image.
EDIT: Theo..., I stand by my statements. The first one is obvious, otherwise atheists would be flocking to whatever could prove itself a 'god.' For the second one, all anyone needs is to read any 'holy book' to see that the gods are mirror images of mankind. Are you so arrogant to believe that the human race is the greatest being in the universe? All we are is the most intelligent animal on this planet.

Perhaps if you said "created the idea of god" it would be more clear and I could agree with you.
Sorry to be so picky, but I don't like to leave my comments open to misinterpretation - I have seen how badly misquoted people get in christian literature even when they say the correct things.....

I think a divine intelligence of some description created the brain that humans have, which seems to be extracts from virtually every other species. I think the universe just began at some point but again there has to be a superior intelligence at work as there are things that are too perfect to have simply evolved.

God created the world along with his son Jesus while the angelswere lauding him in the heavens. Anything beautiful that comes from a Bang is not lasting. It had to be a superior intelligent mind who could put the universe in the order it is in.
