Could you recommend gimp?

I've used photoshop cs2 and now cs3 for awhile...just wondering if anyone prefers gimp to ps.

If so, what's the learning curve like?

If you have Photoshop use it ... Gimp is great as a free application ... but compared to Photoshop ..it falls a long way short
