UK has a rule that does NOT give british citizenship to children born there of tourist parents (those visiting or on a work permit). So the child has the citizenship of the mother - which is why you were billed.

No you cannot stay there and expect to work. that makes you an illegal alien, and both you and your child will be deported because he is NOT a british citizen. You must find the money some other way.

My suggestion would be to go home to your country of origin and take advantage of whatever healthcare arrangements they have there. You are not entitled to NHS care as you are not a UK citizen and do not have a work permit.

The NHS is for UK citizens and those who are living here legally. It was set up for that reason, not to provide care to people from other countries who are unable to access care under their own countries' healthcare systems. We just couldn't do it.

Emergency care might be available to those who are here as tourists but nothing more. You cannot get a Work Permit in the UK without finding a job and a sponsor and applying for a Visa.

Even if you are living in the uk, and your kid is born here, if you dont have permenant redidancy then your kid is not british.

You could apply for a work permit but you'll have to prove you have qualities and can look after yourself and son here.

Overstaying a Uk visa can stop you getting here again.

If your visa has expired you and your child need to head back to your own country and get the care for him there. The UK is in no way obligated to pay for these services.

I am very sorry to hear your son still has ill health, I am not sure how being born in a country makes you a citizen, if your parents are Foreigners? The world is really mixed up at the moment, and it looks to be getting worse, so please forgive unkind answers, immigration is a huge frustration because the politicians are avoiding to tackle it.

Hope your Son gets better soon.

If you're not from EU it probably wont be possible. You would need to have a sponsor here who has agreed to employ you. And even if you did, it would take a long time to process your application. You might get emergency medical care, but anything else is down to you.

You mean you were on a TOURIST VISA?, this is the very reason even this weak government is cutting down the tourist visa term to 3 months. Look! we are a small country and we cannot simply give our services away to anybody who arrives here on a "tourist Visa"

so what if your son was born here whilst you were on a hol, iday visa?
why does that make it the UK responsibility for your sons medical bills

go back home, seek medical treatment there

you may be able to get a work cisa, however as you have outstayed your tourist visa I'd reckon its highly unlikely that you will get an employment visa even if you could demonstrate that you had a suitable job offer or skills

go back home, seek medical treatment there

The answer is sadly, No!!!! The HO will not easily grant you permission to work, more, they will remove you if they find out, because you have had access to public funds ( NHS). I take it you are now overstayed your stamp... oops!
That's the other reason why they will be removing you from the UK.

I'm sorry to hear about your son, i hope life comes good for him, but I've heard too many similar stories. i was , here on Holiday when i fell ill, my illness only started when i got off the plane at Gatwick, cor' blimey you mean your NHS is free, well blow me, good job i didn't waste money on insurance ...can't you go home and work? i don't want to sound uncaring but we have people in this country who payed in all their lives but can't get life saving drugs due to lack of money, if your son was born last year, why are you still here????? is this just one more case of our system being scamed?
