if it doesn't hurt why is everyone so scared of nuclear war?

Vaporization is contrary to the human instinct for survival, the same as suicide... and no, it doesn't hurt.

People are scared of nuclear war because nothing like it has happened before, the exception being up bombing Japan. Lots of books have dipicted the end of the world coming after a nuclear war, so many poeple are scared out of their wits if you announced that you're compaining for a nuclear war or something.

If you were close enough to get vaporized by it then no it wouldn't hurt. What would hurt though is if you were outside the main blast and got effected by the fallout and radiation.....THAT would hurt.

It depends on how close you are to ground zero. If you are actually vaporized I doubt it since you would die almost instantly. If you were killed by the fireball alone, that would suck. I doubt burning to death is a good way to go.

If you are at ground zero, you'd never know what hit ya. Further away, a painful death from radiation poisoning would ensue, thus the fear.

It would happen so fast, your neurons wouldn't be able to transfer the information to your brain, before it was all gone. So no, I don't think it would hurt.

Heh.... if you think burning to death by a fireball is bad.... try dying from radiation burn =Op.
Depending on your exposure it'll take a few days to die. hehe. The radiation slowly pulling your atoms apart! mwuaha.
