Say your spouse cheated with your best friend. Would you be compelled to punch him/her out of reaction? I think it would be my first response.

Generally, violence is a no-no. Its best used when protecting something or for sports.

punch who? the best friend or the spouse? i think you should bang their heads together and see how that feels. Maybe they can borrow each other's brain matters cause they need it.
if they blatantly have a constant affair and everything is supposedly good with your woman, then yes Punch them and run, make suer they don't have a gun.
some people deserve a punch in the face.
