How do I disable the DVD player mode on a Playstation 2?

The PS2 is reading some of my games as DVDs so I want to know if I can disable this so I can play only PS2 games on it. Any ideas? Thanks.

i'm sorry, can you post some additional information? the reason i ask this is because ps2 games *ARE* dvds

what exactly is it doing, what message might it have, that makes you believe it is reading a game improperly?

you need it repaired - it should be able to detect whether it is a ps2 game or a dvd...good luck :)
